NEW YORK (April 11th, 2021) - Today WGI celebrates its seventh anniversary, from our founding on April 11th, 2014 by then 14 year old middle school student Chance Wilson. Since those early days WGI has worked toward a simple yet massive goal: teaching the world to read and write. We have united corporations, organizations, and people across the globe in support of that goal. The results are seen in the lives of those who have been impacted by WGI’s work. And yet, the work still continues.

“It is remarkable that we are approaching nearly a decade of WGI”, said WGI Chairman, CEO and Founder Chance Wilson. “The years have flown by as we have undertaken this important mission of spreading literacy around the world. I am proud of the work that has been done and am excited to see what the next seven years, and beyond, hold.”
